(Day 8)
In the afternoon, we drove to visit Giuseppe Rinaldi in Barolo commune.

Rinaldi is one of my favorite Barolo producers. They make traditional style serious quality Barolo. Rinaldi owns 6 ha growing areas including famous crus, Brunate and Le Coste.

Giuseppe’s wife, Ana Maria, hosted our tour and tasting. We met Giuseppe (“Beppe”) also…he was putting labels on his own wines!

We tasted 3 wines.

2010 Barbera d’Alba
2008 Barolo
…from barrel. Blend of Cannubi, San Lorenzo, and Ravera crus.
2008 Barolo, Brunate…from barrel (before blending with Le Coste?). Brunate is from Barolo side, with lower altitude. It makes very tannic wine.

Their 2008 Barolo will be bottled in April 2012.
