In the afternoon, we enjoyed hanging out at the pool.

For lunch, I had grilled grouper and it was excellent.

Before dinner was more cocktails...

One of the restaurants at the resort hosted a Mayan night tonight. The menu was all traditional Mayan dishes, so I was really excited to try the authentic Mayan treat.

Amuse-bouche was shredded pork, duck, etc. And local queso (cheese)...Yucatan makes the best cheese in Mexico.

My appetizer was Sea bass carpaccio with mushrooms, fried chaya leaves, pumpkin, cheese achiote and lime vinaigrette. The fish was extremely fresh and really tasty. We asked our waiter about chaya leaves and he kindly brought a whole chaya leaf to show and even let us taste it. It looked like a maple leaf, but the taste was more like spinach. He said it's a traditional ingredients in Mayan cooking and supposed to be very healthy. There are many cosmetics made out of chaya because of its benefits for beauty, too. Jason had "Mayan Fest" which included empanada, etc. He loved it.

Xcatic pepper, stuffed with minced lobster. Chaya soup was really nice, too.

For main course, I had sea bass again! It was sea bass in "Tik in Sik" style. The fish was wrapped in banana leaves. Once I opened it, it was covered with red sauce and peppers. The fish was beautifully cooked with multi-layered flavors and really nice texture. It was amazing! It was one of the best sea bass dishes I'd ever had!

Jason had pork pibil, and it was again, the best pork pibil we both had tasted. Just fantastic.

Desserts were also very nice, we had arroz con leche, and Mexican bitter chocolate cake, filled with Ixcatic jelly. Perfect.

What a great dinner we had...I wish I could have Mayan meal every night.
