It was the final evening of this tour with Japanese wine people, and we had the farewell dinner at Trattoria Ai Fiori in Trieste.
Pureed fennel soup with shrimp. Braised octopus with black truffle and potato puree.
Pasta with monkfish, black olives, capers, and tomato sauce. Roasted branzino with roasted potatoes.
We opened up different bottles but I didn’t get to take all the photos.

We enjoyed these wines with the rustic local dishes. After dinner, some of us had more wine at a local bar. The group went quite wild! But, since I was going to fly to Budapest the following day, I left around 2.30am. Some of them still stayed for more drinks. Crazy fun people. It was the perfect final night with the fun wine friends.
